Renovations on the Ridge

June 12, 2007

Linville Ridge has spent the past nine months conducting Phase I of the planned renovations to the Country Club. The items to date that have been completed are as follows:

Belvedere

  • Much of the changes occurred to the back of the house
  • Overhauled Belvedere Kitchen with new equipment reasons and overall functionality. Created a better flow for the servers and kitchen staff.
  • Created more storage, again for functionality of the back of the house so that the front of the house benefits.
  • Added a wood fire oven, so that the chefs could update the menu with new and exciting dishes
  • A second fireplace was installed to add coziness to the dinning area.
  • New roof was put on.
  • Kid's Activity Room - Linville offers children's "camp" activities on and off the Ridge, so with the renovations of the Belvedere, we updated this area per the needs of this facility.

Sandwedge

  • Created a Deli/Sandwich Shop which we are calling the "Sandtrap Deli"
  • We added a coffee bar to the Sandtrap, the Sandtrap Coffee House, which is open at 7am for those in need of their morning coffee or just a great place to gather in the morning. Newspapers are available for sale there as well.
  • Added wireless capabilities throughout the Sandwedge including the men and women's lounges.
  • Added laptop computers with Internet accessibility to the men and women's lounges.
  • Created covered "outside" dinning by adding Nano Doors to the Sandwedge. That way, part of the dinning room can be opened up to the outdoors .
  • Customers get the long range views down the 10th Hole and out onto the driving range, on pretty days when the nano doors are opened.
  • The nano doors also allow for part of the Sandwedge dinning room to be shut off, for meetings to occur, for example a women's golf association meeting that took place . . .They were not disturbed by people dining, and vice versa….
  • A bar was added. This created a sense of community, to hang out at after a round of golf, or even an afternoon of cards.
  • The men's lounge was updated in color and some décor.

Golf Course

  • Holes 1-7 of the golf course have been renovated . . .under Bobby Weed with the plan to finish the rest of the holes by next season.
