Hiking
The mountains of Western North Carolina prove to be a haven for outdoor recreation lovers. Whether you are on the moderate trails of Linville Ridge, the Beacon Heights Trail on the Blue Ridge Parkway, the strenuous Grassy Ridge on Roan Mountain, or neighboring Grandfather Mountain State Park’s ridgeline, fall in love with the nature that surrounds.
Linville Ridge is home to two hiking trails; located on the lower and upper mountain. The lower trail starts from the Belvedere to Highway 184 security gate and stretches 2.52 miles, while the upper trail starts from Linville Ridge’s Helipad to Forest Court entrance and stretches 1.8 miles.
There are all sorts of ways to get involved and meet new friends. Group hikes provide a great way to explore our beautiful surroundings. - Karen & Fred Buchsbaum
